GCED 101 (Introduction to Global Citizenship Education) is a free foundational online certificate course offered by the Asia-Pacific Centre of Education for International Understanding (APCEIU) through its GCED Online Campus. The course introduces UNESCO-aligned concepts and pedagogical approaches to foster empathy, respect, and action toward a sustainable and peaceful world.
The program emphasizes key GCED principles across three learning domains: cognitive (knowledge), socio-emotional (values and empathy), and behavioral (action). Through interactive materials including academic resources, videos, and discussions participants are equipped to integrate global issues such as peace, human rights, and sustainability into their teaching and learning practices.
As a foundational training, GCED 101 empowers learners to become active and responsible global citizens and serves as a pathway for more advanced GCED initiatives.
The successful completion of the certification reflects NBSC’s continued commitment to internationalization, capacity-building, and the promotion of inclusive and transformative education aligned with global standards.
